Hey All! Sorry I have not posted for a while,... alot has been happening, my life is confusing but beautiful as usual! Praise God! My trip abroad was amazing, and now God has provided a way for me to gain my teacher certification so I'm in the process of that as of late as well as seeking God's wisdom for some other important matters!
As you all might have noticed... my logs are usually to long to read, the reason being that I have an ongoing list of issues that I'm trying to collaborate with you all to try and tackle... I have not been successful at making it easy to read... maybe soon. But for right now, I'm just going to focus on answering my last question that I posed, which was, is it possible to go to heaven without knowing Jesus... this is a VERY hot topic in today's society (with all the live and let live religions out their). It is my hope we can work on finding a deeper understanding to this issue together. IF YOU HAVE A GOOD VERSE THAT TALKS ABOUT SALVATION OR GOD'S LOVE THAT MIGHT HELP US UNDERSTAND THIS BETTER... PLEASE POST IT IN A COMMENT TO ME AND I'LL POST IT IN MY NEXT ENTRY!
For right now, I leave you with a very interesting passage that helps me understand this hot topic a little more: Romans 2: 12 - 16 "For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned n the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge teh secrets of men by Jesus Chrsit, accourding to my gospel."
Let me know what you think that means or other verses on understanding God's salvation and I'll post it so we can gain a deeper understanding so we might then be able to better represent God's love! Peace, Live, Love ( A drew saying ;) hope to hear from ya, lataz!

Hey All! It's been a while but a friend by the name of beccalsquish, reminded me how fun and down right usefull it is to post on xanga! I missed all my xanga buddies, .. like Adam, Rooboo, Katrina, Footloose, and tonz more! Annnnnyyy BOO, I mean who... here's a picture of a pumpkin with a scary leaf in the window.... that pumpkin sadly passed away last week, so maybe another pumpkin carving is in the near future! OK... SO.... DOWN TO BUSINESS.... I found some exciting revalations in one of the previous question of "if it's fair that you only go to heaven if you know and believe in Jesus?..." I put this question in because it's one I ran accross in college and pondered over, going back and forth on the issue ALOT... SO, before I discuss my finidings and ask what you think about them, I'd like to TAKE A POLL: Who thinks that you must know and believe on Jesus to go to heaven? comment back with verses, your thoughts, or just a simple yes I think this is true... or no, I don't think so... not quite. And let me know how you've been also! Until then, I'm your flippant correspondant (trying to become faithful) , asking those hard questions with you, and joyfully expecting great answers! Love ~Ash Ongoing question list refined: add yours to the list (questions and answers alike) if you should be so moved :) I ask these questions from the perspective of those who have not found are tasted the love and truth in teh bible to assure them it's validity.... I ask these questions not to cause doubt, but to better prepare us, as well as bring us closer to the truth of the Lord and who He is :) ~ How do we know what the bible says, actually happened? Top Issues: time line- does it match up?... (dinosaurs, neanderthals, sun in it's second cycle, carbon dating, bla bla bla) ........... the chosen son - was it Ishmael or Isaac that Abraham sacrificed and what do the possibilities mean?................... left out parts - what was left out, and why... and by who? does this show conspiracy?! ~ Is the bible fair... and if it is not... is it proving itself wrong because it claims itself as fair?... hmmm tRIcky :) Top Issues in this: ................. a) fair to women? ... is it all a scam to keep us in line? and keep the men in authority? .............. b) is it true, and if so fair,.that if you don't know Jesus and believe in him that you don't go to heaven?(poll on this) c) the sensitive issue of finding love in another person from the same gender.. is it fair to say it is a sin? why?.......... d)why did christians kill and crusade in days long ago? are christians now doing the same thing in a different light?. e)why are other religions wrong, arn't they just as loving? These are some subjects I intend to speak about and explore with you all... but please take note that all the possible answers I bring here, can be faulty because although I look and search the answers in my heart and the bible, and more,... I might say something based off of a feeling that is wrong at the moment,... a verse that I took out of context not knowing another verse that brings a deeper and different perspective on the topic, etc. etc... but that is why I will keep searching and seeking these hard questions and sharing them with you in hopes to learn more from and with you... because we ought to be ready to give an explanation for our faith at anytime... NOT... have "you've got to just have faith" be our lazy explanation.... and honestly... how can we ask others to look at our view point if we will not consider theres? Joy and peace and please give me props if you even got through half of that, to know that this writing is worth it! lol! ~Ash
| - "Of Want"
Hot off the press my show"Within the Ruin" went over pretty well!
I had a lot of nice comments about the show, although I was dissapointed in how much of the original plan was actually able to be carried out in the time I had to prepare for the show, which wasn't long since I was the first one for the season! I was really excited to have this opportunity though, it's not often you can really utilize that kind of space for whatever you want to do! With this exhibit I was able to practice my passion of bringing people together through art to explore life. I was able to put up a small installation, and also hold a performance art piece on my opening reception night! Everyone loved the idea I was expressing, which was basically that Americans are to stuck on trying to be the best all the time... and I showing this by having participants from the audience stand still as I walked around critiquing the way they were standing and putting make up on with a mirror, all the while a group of traditionally dressed african friends sat and enjoyed eachother's company in a relaxed way. Then I as the prima donna kept getting distracted by them and eventually put the mirror down where they came out and helped brush all the make up off and proceeded in a fun celabratory dance. People liked it but were a little confused until I explained my thought process behind it all. So all in all I was able to try alot of firsts and this gave me the perfect chance to really stretch my legs and try a number of things that I will surely use in my future as an artist!! So all is good, except I'm still in the mode of hitting the road running, spring break was only a slight breather in this ongoing marathon it seems! Still lot's more to do but I will update you guys on that more as it comes! Peace and love to everyone! I miss you rooboo and yoru sis Erin, and I can't get on your xanga page so tell me what's going on for you guys if you get this! K, love ya allz, lataz! ~Ash

Joy and Love to you! Ashley Snyder
| Ongoing Question List: The issues I'm exploring.... hope what I say might aid your discovery!
1) How can we trust that what was said in the bible actually happened?
a)if the prophecies were
written, seperated by hundreds of years, and
then came came true
what can this show?? but how do we know that
people just didn't write that the prophecies came true
when they didn't?
b)how do we know Jesus ever
lived?
c)how do we know the things
said in the bible happened
d)how do
we know that the disciples of Jesus died for him... and what
does this
show if they willingly taught what Jesus told them, even if they
knew they
would probably die from doing it?
e)could an ulterior
motive prompted them to teach even in the face of
death... did pride or unrealistic hope outweigh death for disciples
and could this also have been true for Jesus?
2)
Can we disprove the bible because it isn't logical and is unfair, because it
claims to be loving and fair?
a)What about what God says about women being submissive, fair?
b) Does the
bible to say that sin = hell unless you know Jesus, is it fair?
c) Why do good
things happen to bad people and bad things to good?
d) Why doesn't
God just show us a sign and then we could believe?
Today's Thought Deals with Q 2 a, are women valued the same as men?
1) I
did not know how I felt about the verses 1 Timothy2:12-14 and 1
Corinthian14:34-35 (add more that deal with this issue by leaving me a
comment).
2)- Especially when someone explaining the reasoning why a women
shouldn't speak out in church seemed to me saying that women were a
lesser creation because of lack of understanding or lack of will
power..... this however is not the case but these verses are often
confused to reflect this when others try to explain them, which is also
understandable... none the less we should try to avoid this.
3) It makes more sense to me then that we explain these
verses and their reasonings through first explaining the slight
difference in desires between man and women. I will say
what women desire being one, women desire to be seen as special and
beautiful , and they also desire to nurture....
a)with this in
mind you might understand why it is better for a woman not to speak out
in church for although her intentions are to be a good caretaker, and
so she seeks knowledge out of a good heart, her desire to be understood
and accepted and special, would easily create long winded sermons,
discussions within a church service, and jealousy, an increasing battle
amidst the women to be seen as special. So speaking in
church would give temptation to other women, and also will protect men
from minupulating women's caring sensitive nature, to decieve and
minipulate them to decieve and minipulate the church at large even, and
to the women who is seeking answers, it is for her protection and for
bennefit that she goes home if possible.
b) However, it is less and less possible to find workers for the over abundant harvest,
and so it makes sense that women would take up this leadership, and
possibly this is better to do than not, even though it might not be the
best way of doing it becuse of the weaknesses tied in with the great
strengths in these women's attributes. Jesus shows us that
regulationsare not good to stick to only because they are known
rules... for when Jesus healed on the Sabbath he asked, have you not
even heard the story of David where he took the priests bread offering
that was not allowed to be eaten, for the real question that makes
everything clear, is when Jesus asks, "Is it lawful to do good or evil,
to bring life or to destroy it?" And so it may be better
for women not to speak and church and to go home to their husbands for
it will empower the desire and embedded abilities in them also, but
yet, if this is not possible in todays world women will take up the
leading shaft, and do just as good,... for we are not less than man,
but do powerful things in spreading God's truth outside the church, and
if there is a need for it... even inside the church... even past the
children for it says women should rule over children... Women display a
beautiful quality of God, just as men do... and together show a perfect
representation of the relationship between us and God,,,... so although
God leads us, God loves us and needs us to love him, and we do great
works in the sight of God and he is pleased.... so is this symbolism
played out between men leading women, and yet women in this leading
make the man worthy of living..... we are balanced in value then, but
simply designed for slightly different roles, EVEN THOUGH we can do
just as much as a man can do, and then some...but yet we are made to be
desired and to set our great wisdom towards nurturing and growing
others on a more individual basis... yes? Lay it on me what you
think about this.
Joy and Peaceout to you allz ~ Ash
